The Eurostars Universal Lisboa is a recently inaugurated design hotel designed for a luxurious stay. It is located in the modern neighborhood of Parque das Nações, where the Expo was held in 1998, the main theme of which was the oceans. That is why the hotel is conceptually inspired by the wind rose, symbolized by an inner courtyard around which the wind blows, welcoming guests as if they were maritime travelers.

These allusions to the sea can also be seen in its rooms, where dark woods and light tones intermingle with blue tones, with references to the most significant details of the capital of Lisbon.

What was the highlight of Eurostars Universal Lisboa
Exceptional
We stayed here on our way out of Portugal, as it was near the airport for an early flight.. The hotel is in the business district of Lisbon near one of the main train stations, with skyscrapers, the waterfront, wide boulevards, restaurants and shops. I honestly didn't expect it to he as nice as it was for the price and based on looking at other Eurostars hotels from the outside in different cities (Porto, etc.) Staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations, check-in, check-out, and all else for our very short stay.
We could only stay one night due to our vacation ending.

What was the highlight of Eurostars Universal Lisboa
Wonderful
Hotel was very clean throughout, room was very nice with really comfortable beds , lovely bathroom and especially wonderful big rainforest shower. Staff at the reception was very nice and professional. Price of our two night stay without breakfast was very good given comfort and convienent location of the hotel and it was a perfect choice for our stay. Located in nice safe modern "business" part of Lisbon , close to big Vasco Da Gama shopping centre and Oriente train station which was very conviennent for us , since we arrived by train from Faro. Also cable car and modern skyscrapers built for Expo 98 were very nice and me and my son enjoyed cable car ride and area and stayed there longer than expected before heading to spend rest of the day in old part of Lisbon to which we took a metro ( I recommend buying a day ticket , it's not expensive and allows you to take metro and trams including famous 28 tram but we took tram 12 , also lovely and less busy ). We enjoyed our stay in beautiful Lisbon very much and we were lucky with perfect blue skies and warm Spring like weather just before Christmas.
When booking our room we were upgraded to more expensive deluxe room which has beautiful views of the Tagus River at same price as regular room because we book on booking com a lot so we were really looking forward to stay in this upgrade room especially for the views of sunrise. However, when checking in we were informed that although upgrade is available, there is only double bed available and my son being teenager now doesn't want to share room with me so we were given only regular room with windows overlooking office building and only side view of the river which was very disappointing. I understand upgrade offer was saying twin or double deluxe room but surely, explaining the situation, hotel staff could give us upgraded room since usually what is double bed are actually two single beds joined together just like we had them in our regular room where we stayed and we had to separate them anyway. So that was disappointing and to see sunrise we went to the rooftop of the hotel from where we could enjoy spectacular views but it would be so much better if we could have this view from our upgraded room which sadly we weren't given. Also , for 5 star hotel it's strange that there was no coffee machine in the room. Everything else was perfect and we enjoyed our stay in the hotel very much.
